Annie O'Harran is a harassed single mother the wrong side of thirty. Yet, against all expectations, she has met her hero and is looking ahead to a blissful summer planning the perfect wedding. But first she must meet the horrible deadline set by her publisher. Annie escapes London and heads for the fabulous calm of a writer's retreat in Cornwall - cliff top views, private beach, it's ideal... until the doorbell starts ringing. Everyone, it seems, from her competitive sister and her noisy brood, to her louche ex-husband and his nubile young girlfriend, has had the same idea for their summer holidays. And then there's the houseguest who doesn't even bother to knock... Just as long as none of them affects her big day at the end of the summer...
